Anna Taranto is from Biloxi, Mississippi and has been dancing since the age of 2 at Nancy's School of Dance. She has trained in many styles of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip hop, modern, and acro. She was part of the National Award Winning NWD the Company since the age of 7, and has trained with Nancy Ward, Denise Oustalet, Derek Reese, Azlyn Ward Justice, Kevin “Tokyo” Inouye, and many others. She is currently a Lead Teacher and Company Choreographer for dancers ages 3-18 at Nancy’s School of Dance, and has been teaching since the age of 16. Her students have won numerous Regional and National Championships and Titles, and she was awarded National Choreographer of the Year in 2014 at Kid’s Artistic Revue. Her dancers have had the honor of participating in the benefit concert MOVEtheWORLD in 2013 and 2014. Anna has a great passion for inspiring dancers and sharing her love for the art. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. When she is not teaching dance, traveling with her students, or spending time with family, she is an Intensive Care Nurse at Ocean Springs Hospital.
