Michelle Soutier, a distinguished board member of Dancers Against Cancer, has made significant contributions to the dance and charitable communities through her extensive expertise and compassionate leadership. A proud native of North Carolina and alumna of UNC Charlotte, Michelle founded Miller Street Dance Academy in 1994. Under her guidance, the academy has flourished, nurturing over 2,500 students across two locations with a dedicated staff of 53 faculty and administrators.

Recognized as an influential voice in the dance industry, Michelle has been a regular featured speaker at the DanceLife Teacher Conference for over a decade, sharing her invaluable insights and strategies for success with dance educators and studio owners. Her role as a founding member of the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association (I.D.E.A.) highlights her commitment to fostering ethical practices and business excellence within the dance community. Michelle’s teachings extend globally as she delivers acclaimed virtual seminars and courses through The Rhee Gold Company, impacting a worldwide audience.

Michelle’s dedication to community service is equally impressive. In 2015, she was honored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s ‘W.I.S.H. Society’ for her significant contributions to fulfilling the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Her efforts were further recognized in 2016 when she received the Humanitarian Award from African Christians Fellowship International for her support of Liberian orphans. Today, as a National Ambassador for Dancers Against Cancer, Michelle continues to advocate passionately, offering crucial support to dance professionals and their families affected by cancer, ensuring they receive the financial and emotional support needed during challenging times.
